What’s a domain name?
Your domain name is your Internet website address, for example, my website address is: JDVisions. You must register a domain name before it can be on the Internet. Register your domain at www.godaddy.com.
What’s a web server?
A web server is a computer that hosts your domain. After purchasing your domain and choosing a hosting company (see What’s a Website Host), I then prepare your website pages and then upload your pages to your web server.
What’s a browser?
A browser is a software application used to locate and display web pages, examples: Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Netscape, Opera, and others.

What’s a website host?
Your website must be hosted on an Internet Server (a website host) that offers space for your domain files. Hosting fees can range from $10.00 to $79.00 a month or more
How will visitors find my website?
To view your website, visitors must connect to the Internet, open their browser, type in your URL address (ex: http://JDVisions), then they can press enter, or click on the GO button on their browser. The browser will open up your main page on your website.
E-mail Accounts
Many servers offer a POP3 email account, and/or a web-based email program that you can use.
